Lifted 03:13
Lost and dreaming Blissed out, sleeping I can feel you breathing next to me I'm fully flying My mind is smiling Don't wake me up from this dream Lift me up I don't want to come back down I love this feeling Still can't believe it You left me reeling and I don't want to stop You've got me going now My thoughts are floating somehow You lifted me right up and I don't want to drop Lift me up I don't want to come back down I don't know what's going on with me these days And I don't mind Don't want to come back down
2.
I sink into your eyes I melt into your smile I'm captive to your teeth They've got ahold of me I'd kill to touch your skin And feel you sinking in I'd die to hear you laugh I want to make it last But I know that you're not real At least I can pretend I see you in my mind's eye My imaginary friend I'd hold you in my arms And keep you safe from harm I'd treat you like a gift And never let you drift away But I know that you're not real At least I can pretend I see you in my mind's eye My imaginary friend Never let you drift away from me
3.
Do you know How to show The way you feel When it's oh so real? Do you know How to grow And when it's time To leave the past behind? Take your time Calm your mind Learn to heal All the pain you feel Take your time Don't be blind Listen close To what your heart wants most Well I'm here to tell you I don't want to be sad anymore So I'm walking out that door I don't want to make you mad anymore So I'm walking out that door
4.
How does it feel to feel like you? How does it feel to be so true? I want to feel it too How do you shine the way you do? How does it feel to be brand new? I want to feel it too I already know how to feel alone So I don't want to go back home
5.
I've been up and I've been down I've been around I've been here and I've been there Been everywhere I got so high I left the ground I've been around I've been high and I've been low It comes and goes I've been wrong and I've been right Well, that's just life I've searched my whole life for something I haven't found I got so high I left the ground Sunk so deep I almost drowned Yeah, I've been around I've searched my whole life for something I haven't found I've been on the upside and I've been upside down I got so high I left the ground Sunk so deep I almost drowned Yeah, I've been around
6.
"Look within yourself," they say, "that's the key" But when I look inside I don't like what I see I don't like what I see So you tell me, how's that for brutal honesty? "Things aren't as bad as they seem," is what they say But when I take a look it doesn't seem that way No, it doesn't seem that way to me So you tell me, how's that for brutal honesty? All the tears in the world now Can't change the way things are And all your prayers to a god that isn't there Can't change the fact that life's not fair
7.
I Can't Lie 02:07
I tried to hide behind a smile I could only fake it for a while Because each time I lied to you You could see it wasn't true in my eyes No I can't lie I said that everything was fine I said the same thing every time But each time I lied to you You could see it wasn't true in my eyes No I can't lie
8.
I need a little help Can't do it by myself You know I've tried I need a little help To think about something else You know I've tried But you're still on my mind I'm wasting time Because I'm always walking backwards in my mind I need a little help To forget the pain I've felt You know I've tried so many times I'm falling behind Because I'm always walking backwards in my mind I'm wasting time Because I'm always walking backwards in my... I'm falling behind Because I'm always walking backwards in my mind
9.
Hidden worlds behind your eyes Just a blink when they collide Planets smash inside your mind I know I’ll never be inside Spinning ‘round you Satellite Separate orbits Lost in flight Hidden worlds deep inside Floating in suspended time Stars implode deep within I know you’ll never let me in Spinning ‘round you Satellite Separate orbits Lost in flight Spinning ‘round you Contact lost Separate orbits Never cross Planets smash inside your mind I’ll never be inside your hidden worlds

Rewind 03:19
Be kind Rewind I just want to start again from the beginning Can we start again?

about

For the past handful of years Supercrush has been employing a drip-feed approach to releasing new music. Every so often a new two song 7" single of power-pop excellence would appear out of nowhere.  And then all would go quiet until the next pair of gems inexplicably materialized out of the silence.  Here we have all four Supersingles, along with two previously unreleased bonus tracks, collected as one ten song release.  From the fuzzed-out guitars of 'Lifted' to the tasteful organ and glockenspiel accents of 'Walking Backwards' it's all here in one attractive package, with cover art featuring an eye-catching assemblage in the colorful style we've come to expect from Supercrush.

The two bonus tracks were recorded in the winter of 2015/2016 as part of the same group of sessions that yielded the 'I've Been Around' and 'I Can't Lie' singles.  However, this pair of songs finds the band taking a temporary detour from the short and sugary simplicity of their superpop formula to explore a more spacey approach, recalling the shoegazing dreamy-ness of the outro of 'Melt Into You' from their first single, or perhaps even some of Mark Palm's work with his previous group, Modern Charms.  The closing track 'Rewind’ especially demonstrates this different approach as it forgoes percussion altogether and utilizes mantra-like lyrical repetition and the juxtaposition of layers of chaotic noise, static, and feedback over a cyclical chord progression to bring this collection to it's cathartic conclusion.  Although, upon reaching that conclusion it's likely that the listener will find themselves echoing the lyrical sentiment of the final song: "I just want to start again from the beginning.”  Luckily, in this case starting again is as simple as flipping the record and dropping the needle.

about

Supercrush Seattle, Washington

Although best known for playing in a long lineage of hardcore, punk, and metal groups, Mark Palm’s focus has always been song-craft and pop sensibility. After beginning to explore softer sounds in the late aughts as a member of San Francisco shoegazers Modern Charms, Palm adopted the Supercrush moniker as a vehicle for his pursuit of powerpop preeminence. ... more
